The association’s board: It consists of six committed people who deal with monetary and financial policy. New elections take place every two years.
Dr. Karsten Stroborn holds a degree in economics from the University of Nantes and a diploma in industrial engineering from the University of Karlsruhe (TH). Since his doctorate under Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz Ketterer on issues relating to the security of electronic payment systems, he has held various positions at the Deutsche Bundesbank in the central “Markets” division. He has headed this department since April 2023 and, together with his team, is responsible for the operational implementation of the Eurosystem’s monetary policy in Germany, among other things.
Annette Littmann, who holds a doctorate in banking and business administration and is a former journalist, has been supporting investors and the capital market since the 1980s.
Martin Kessler is senior politics editor at the Düsseldorf “Rheinische Post”. He holds a doctorate in economics and is responsible for the media company’s opinion section. He was previously economic correspondent for the parliamentary editorial department of “WirtschaftsWoche” as well as head of the economics department and head of the parliamentary office of the “Rheinische Post” in Berlin.
Christian Lips (CIIA/CEFA), Chief Economist at Norddeutsche Landesbank since 2018, has been responsible for economic analyses and forecasts on economic and monetary policy as well as interest rate and FX developments for more than 16 years. From 2014 to 2016, he also prepared the economic forecast for the Lower Saxony Institute of Economic Research (NIW).
He has received a variety of awards for his forecasting accuracy. In addition, the magazine €uro has repeatedly chosen him as Interest Rate Forecaster of the Year.
Ulrike Neyer is Professor of Economics at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. She researches and teaches in the fields of monetary economics and macroeconomics. She is particularly interested in the monetary policy of the Eurosystem, the implementation of monetary policy and monetary policy in macroeconomic models.
Dr Sebastian Camarero Garcia pursued his studies in economics at the University of St Gallen, the London School of Economics, and the University of California, Berkeley. He completed his doctorate at the University of Mannheim in Labour and Public Economics.
Sebastian Camarero gained professional experience at the Centre for European Economic Research and is currently serving as a director at the Deutsche Bundesbank. Before his delegation to other organisations, he has been involved in monetary policy implementation as well as strategy, governance, and transformation for the Central Area Head of Markets and the Executive Board.
From 2023 to 2024, he worked in the economic and financial policy department of the Federal Chancellery. Since May 2025, Dr Camarero Garcia has been seconded to the European Commission, Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (FISMA), where he focuses on international financial market policy and regulatory issues (G7/G20/FSB). He lives in Mannheim/GER.
